Dr. Thomas E. Smith
Dr. Thomas E. Smith received his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1983 from the Indiana University School of Optometry. Prior to this, he received a bachelor’s degree in biological science and also a master’s degree in biology education from Purdue University. He completed optometry internships at the St. Luke’s Eye Institute in Tarpon Springs, Florida and the Contact Lens Research Clinic at Indiana University.
Dr. Smith established his practice in 1983 with offices in Seymour and Brownstown. Then, in 1998, both offices were combined and moved to a new, easily-accessible location at 707 West Tipton Street in Seymour.
Each year Dr. Smith’s practice continues to grow due to an unwavering commitment to quality and personalized care for each patient. Both Dr. Smith and his staff realize the importance of good vision, and strive to provide each patient with comprehensive, thorough care that will help to ensure healthy eyesight throughout each stage of a patient’s life.
Dr. Smith’s primary goal is to provide you with the most advanced and personalized care possible, with a friendly, well-trained staff and a modern facility with state-of-the-art equipment.
Dr. Smith is a native of Jackson County. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity, and the Lion’s Club International.
Dr. Smith is married and has three children. When he’s not at work, he enjoys activities with his family, including youth sports, 4-H, and at his church. He also enjoys the outdoor activities of hunting and fishing.
